In a September decision, a New York state Appellate Court ruled two live-in home health aides should be paid for the entire 24 hours because they were not allowed to leave the clients’ homes.

The ruling confirms a similar 2014 ruling at the state supreme court level, according to a Politico article. The Appellate Court’s ruling can still be appealed.
